Terms of Service

By using SchemaDrift Guardian (“the Service”) you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose.
1. The Service is free
The Service is provided free of charge while in early access. There is no paid tier, no trial that converts to a charge, and no payment details collected. If a paid plan is introduced later, existing workspaces will be told in advance and will not be charged without an explicit opt-in.
2. Your account
You sign in with GitHub, and a workspace is created for you on first sign-in. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your API keys secret. An API key grants access to your workspace — treat it like a password and store it in your CI provider’s secret store.
3. Acceptable use
Do not:
- use the Service to break the law or infringe anyone’s rights;
- attempt to access another workspace’s data;
- deliberately overload the Service, or use it to attack any system — including one you own.
4. Your content
You keep all rights to the schema metadata you submit. You grant us only the permission needed to run the Service: storing that metadata, comparing snapshots, and displaying results to your workspace.
5. Availability — no guarantee
There is no service level agreement. The Service may be unavailable, slow, or interrupted without notice, and early-access software changes without a deprecation window. Do not make the Service a single point of failure for shipping code: the GitHub Action supports a non-blocking mode, and if a verdict matters to your release process you should be able to proceed without one.
6. Verdicts are advisory
The Service reports what it detects in schema structure. It can miss a breaking change, and it can flag something your application tolerates. It does not know your application’s semantics, your data, or your consumers. Review verdicts before acting on them; the decision to merge is always yours.
7. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of the Service. Because the Service is free, our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you have paid for it, which is nothing.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your workspace. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, or discontinue the Service entirely — with reasonable notice where practical, so you can export what you need.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may change; the date at the top will change with them. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
